Soothing Chamber Music for the Original Classical Music Enthusiast – and Weddings?

Chamber Music is a compilation of original classical music that is both mysterious and calming at the same time. It is a relaxing, soothing music well suited for wedding preludes and receptions, cocktail parties and brunches. In general, “chamber music” is described in Wikipedia as “the music of friends.” What better classical wedding music than the music of friends? Listen above to tracks 2, 4-6, and 16 for wedding music ideas for your special day. Don’t forget you can head to iTunes or Amazon to purchase tracks separately.

This album begins with a haunting tale that only the synergistic magic of Sharon Ruchman’s piano and Mary Costanza’s cello can tell, in Sharon’s understated title, “Piece for Cello and Piano.” Next the album’s signature piece, “Sea Glass,” continues the story that carries the listener to a soothing, calming place.

If you like quartet music, this classical music CD is for you. In this album, Sharon writes more for quartets than in any of her other albums. “Awakening” is a very strong, determined and optimistic piece that offers us three movements for the 1st violin, 2nd violin, viola, and cello string quartet. The listener is carried through the day with the next two movements for the flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon quartet, called “Day at Play, Day’s End.” The first of these movements is delightfully playful, and the second is a beautiful, soothing close – really appropriate as an end to the day.

Finally we are treated to Sharon’s piano solo. Three movements come together to form “Promise” – two slow, minor movements segue into a bright cheerful third that reminds the listener of Chopin. “Acceptance” brings us back to that Ruchman / Costanza magic again before we return to “Three Pieces for String Quartet” for 1st violin, 2nd violin, viola, and cello, during which the listener can hear the musicians’ joy for this original within the mix of haunting and playful.

In the end, Sharon brings us back to the piano and cello. “Translucence” offers the listener a three-movement window to the soul of this album. Chamber Music is a must-have for classical music CD lovers who enjoy soothing music with an original flare. Click below to purchase this CD today.
